Keep the rooms in your house to a comfortable setting instead of over cooling or overheating them. In the summer, keep your thermostat set for 78 degrees, and in the winter, set it to 68 degrees. By keeping your thermostat set to these temperatures, you can reduce CO2 emissions and keep you electric bill lowered. Also, on windy, cooler days, try opening up the windows for a natural cooling breeze.
Replace all your old appliances for Energy Star appliances. These energy efficient items are made to save on you energy bill, while still efficiently completing it’s task. Refrigerators, freezers, dryers, washers, air conditioners, and dishwashers are just some of the many Energy Star appliances you can find.
Finally, ne of the simplest ways to save is to turn off all appliances when you are not using them. Make sure to turn all the lights off when leaving a room, and turn off all electrical devices, such as the t.v., when you go to bed.
